Sharing God’s Word in Everyday Situations

gospel tract baptist ministry resource witness tool

As born again Christians, followers of The Lord Jesus Christ, it is our duty and our honor do do the work which we are individually called to do. Mark 16:15 And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. Sharing God’s word with our neighbors is the most loving thing we can do for them. God has given each of us unique talents and skills in the temporal, as well as spiritual gifts at salvation. 1 Corinthians 12:6 And there are diversities of operations, but it is the same God which worketh all in all. We can maximize our output for God by combining all of these talents and gifts for His glory, in different ways that get His word out into our communities. Praise God for that awesome honor and responsibility!

TACTICAL TIPS AND TOOLS FOR SHARING JESUS

What are some practical ways that we can do God’s work in everyday situations? After years of being disgusted by seeing so many evil and vulgar shirts everywhere, as a Christian Dad I really wanted to push back and reclaim some of that ground for God. I was called to harness my graphic art/design skills to create an original line of Christian Apparel called KJV Prepper, shirts, hoodies, hats and more that all have scripture on them. No matter where I wear this Christian clothing, it is worn to warn! Here in my workshop I decorate them with my designs based on Bible verses such as John 3:7 Ye must be born again, Romans 1:16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, and John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. This is the truth, the light of God’s Son Jesus Christ, which we need to shine in the dark world/culture which we currently live in.

I have found from personal experience, and from testimonies sent to me by customers, that our Witness Wear can really spark interest, and lead to conversations. In places like the grocery store, community events, or out doing other “mundane” errands. God can use His word wherever it is, because as we know, it is alive! God’s word will never return void! Amen!  Isaiah 55:11 So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.

Maybe you have other skills and talents, like cooking and baking. Our daughter once made some amazing organic cupcakes for a few of our nearby neighbors, with the sole intent of showing them Christian love. Along with the cupcakes, we delivered some Biblical Gospel tracts. One of our neighbors who is in her sixties and lives all alone is a very gender confused individual. Sadly, she is also deceived by the false New Age spirituality that is so prevalent these days. When she saw the cupcakes she was so surprised and said “Cupcakes are my favorite, thank you!” Praise God, it was a nice testimony, and a great way to give her another gospel tract without any overt or what may appear to her as any “un-neighborly” confrontations.

Galatians 5:14 For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this; Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.

ALL THINGS WORK TOGETHER FOR GOOD TO THEM THAT LOVE GOD

Some wonderful Christian brothers and sisters that God has allowed us to get to know over the years are in a more Executive or office type job, and their day-to-day work may be a lot different than some of our daily routines and surroundings. But they all have one thing in common: they drink coffee! Coffee mugs at work are an amazing form of expression! You will take note of every message under the sun “at the office.” People love to promote sports teams, dogs, cats, politics, catch-phrases, and their Alma Mater’s. As children of the Living God, why not promote Jesus Christ!? As a coffee drinker myself, and someone who spends a great deal of time at the computer here in the studio writing, designing, and editing videos, I love coffee mugs too! (They hold coffee.) So, predictably, I designed a Jesus is Lord coffee mug for Christians like me who want to proclaim God’s love at work! A brother in Christ who works at Wal-Mart sent me this picture of his 30oz Stainless Steel JESUS IS LORD Tumbler in the break room, where he uses it daily. Praise God for everyday opportunities at work! Whether you work for a corporation, or a small business, remember; our First Amendment rights to free speech do not end when we arrive at work. Most importantly, our mandate comes from God Himself.

When I worked at a local TV Station, which was a very liberal environment, I would hang up pictures in my office that my young children had drawn. One of them that my son made said “JESUS is the best! Wership The Lord Himself! Thank The Lord for all He made!” (Yes, he spelled worship wrong, but he was just under five years old.) Many clients and co-workers would ask “what is that?” – an open door. I would share my testimony, and we would have great conversations about God, the Bible, and the meaning of the Gospel. Then, they would later come at me with questions about these matters, because they knew that I was a believer. At work you are fully within your rights to answer questions about your faith. You can also give co-workers tracts, mix CD’s with Biblical Christian songs, or even books. We have given out cases of Mark Cahill’s book One Heartbeat Away to clients, family, and co-workers over the years.

This brings me to the ultimate “everyday carry” tool that we can use, I mentioned them before: gospel tracts.  When someone asks you about your Christian shirt, or coffee mug, or your child’s picture they drew, do you have an answer? 1 Peter 3:15 But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear: Willing as we may be, time does not always permit, either, as they might be in a hurry, even if we are willing to take the time to witness. Biblical Gospel tracts are an awesome and strong, consistent tool for any Christian to have on hand. And having them on hand is the key! (They do not get distributed if they are in your glove compartment, or at home in that top drawer with the rubber bands, paper clips, and various non-working pens.) Without a doubt, handing someone a tract is something that anyone can do, no matter what your personality type or talent range may be. When you pray in faith, and ask God to help with evangelism, He will bring people to you.

Acts 6:4 But we will give ourselves continually to prayer, and to the ministry of the word.

BE WILLING TO LET GOD OPEN DOORS

I will give you a few out-of-the-ordinary examples, it may seem, but with God all things are possible. Because I was willing to give them out and I had gospel tracts in my pocket, I have been able to give gospel tracts to some very interesting people. Naming them here does not mean I think their soul has more value than the homeless people, average joe’s, waitresses, or even prison inmates whom I have given tracts to. It is just an example to illustrate how God can use us to reach people who need His word, no matter who they are. (It’s about God, not us.)  I gave a TRUTH gospel tract to Donald Trump Jr., who promptly placed it into his blazer pocket, presumably to read on the jet. God allowed me to give a gospel tract to Olympic bronze medalist Erin Hamlin in a BJ’s Wholesale store.  I have given several tracts and a Bible to former lead singer of the band Boston Fran Cosmo. The Lord arranged for me to give one of our Live Love gospel tracts to Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk. Most recently I was able to give a few tracts to Author/Public Speaker David Harris Jr. at the Day of Mourning Pro Life event in Albany, NY. I also received an encouraging text message from a sister in Christ who hands out our gospel tracts. She was excited to share that she had given tracts to actor Richard Thomas “John-boy” of The Walton’s fame, and actress Allison Arngrimm, who played “Nellie” on Little House on the Prairie TV series. What a small world? There are no coincidences with God.

God had me give a tract to a notorious former Charles Manson Cult member “Squeaky” Fromme. She was once on the cover of TIME Magazine for attempting to assassinate President Gerald Ford! I was in the waiting room of a Doctor’s office with my elderly Mom, and there was Lynette “Squeaky” Fromme sitting directly across from my Mom.

I later wrote a Blog article about this encounter, and an investigative reporter for The National Enquirer read it when he was looking into her current whereabouts. He interviewed me by phone for comments on the incident. Because of all this, I was quoted in The National Enquirer as saying “I handed her a gospel tract that read Heaven or Hell, which one will you choose?…from my perspective, we’re all sinners, and have the chance to be forgiven.” That is certainly not “the whole gospel” but it may be the most Biblical truth printed in The Enquirer in quite some time, maybe ever!  I love how exciting life is as a saved man. When we are willing and equipped, God gives us divine appointments, and some interesting adventures as well!

TAKE ACTION WHEREVER GOD HAS YOU

Because of my Christian business, I am able to include a gospel tract, as well as an invitation to listen to my Bible study podcast TruthDealer Radio with every order that goes out! Once a customer wanted to order a gift for a friend, and that friend was guitarist Steve Lukather, of the band Toto, who played on almost every “Hit song” you can think of from the 80’s, the “Soundtrack” of my youth, as it were. This customer ordered one of our SOBER hats as a gift for Lukather (who is now recovered/sober.) I put several tracts in with the order, along with a note asking my customer to please give this gospel tract to Steve Lukather. Months later, I received word back that the mission was accomplished, he had given him both the hat, and the tracts! For whatever reason, God had worked that all out, for His glory.  Romans 8:28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.

Do you see a common theme? Be encouraged, God’s word does not return void! We offer these original Gospel tracts in the Christian Gear section at  KJVPREPPER.COM – because our goal is to warn people to prepare spiritually! 1 Corinthians 1:18 For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.

YOU CAN MAKE AN ETERNAL IMPACT ON SOULS

The amazing fact is that wherever you are in the world, regardless of social status, professional skill-set, ethnic identity or age, you can make a big impact for Jesus! This is a fact, or He would not have tasked us with this duty. God cannot lie, and He knows that He will always empower us to accomplish that which He instructs us to do in His word. Our duty is to believe by faith that it is God’s work, and that He will accomplish all good things through our obedience. Hebrews 11:6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

It’s all about God’s power, and the Holy Spirit is working every moment. I hope and pray that these ideas have encouraged you to be bold, and use everyday opportunities to get God’s word out! Romans 15:13 Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost.

In Christ,

Brian Moonan
