Our Creative Process: Making Your KJV Prepper Witness Wear

coffee

Many people may not be familiar with the hands-on process by which we create the custom KJV Prepper Christian apparel that we offer, so I wanted to detail some lesser known facts about the work that goes into making the witness wear. It all begins with an inspiring idea! I read the Bible and pray, asking God for new ideas all the time, and when I get one to work on, God always gets the Glory. He is The Provider of all good things from above! James 1:17  Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning. Our goal is to magnify, and multiply Him by publishing His word in this dark and dying world/culture.

The next step is ART! I usually sketch out the idea by hand on a piece of nearby scrap paper, or in a sketch pad. Then the design process begins in Adobe Photoshop. Coffee may be consumed during this critical stage of work. coffee cappuccino barista not StarbucksKJV Prepper coffee station Starbucks not needed

When I am finished with the main concepts, the design is finished in a program called Adobe Illustrator, where bugs are worked out, details may be tweaked, and eventually vector files are rendered for the creation of screen printing materials. This part of the work is very technically challenging, somewhat tedious and less artistic, but oh-so necessary. Again, coffee may be consumed during this critical stage of work.

The finished original KJV Prepper design files are then sent to an expert in the screen printing industry. Our designs are burned into screens, and are then screen-printed with quality Plastisol inks onto a premium coated release paper to assure maximum ink transferability. This all happens right here in the USA, thanks to a not-so-small business in Florida, Gulfside Heat Transfers, open since 1983 with over 32 years experience in the production of heat transfers. So far, I have been extremely satisfied with the professional results produced by utilizing their unique services. As their website states- “The inks we use create a durable product that will often outlast the garments you press them on.”

Custom Screen Printed heat transfers use the same processes and inks as other kinds of screen printing, but instead of printing directly to the garment and immediately “flashing” ie super-heating or baking the ink into the garment, the inked design is screen printed onto specialized quick release transfer paper. Now the heat press machine is used to transfer the ink to the garment, simultaneously printing the ink design and essentially “baking it” on to the garment. The results are professional, durable, and consistent.

heat press work

Honestly, this part of the work is just as hard as “regular” screen printing, which I have had past experience in some years back. Operating the heat press machine is a fun process, in some ways, but it requires patience and an eye for detail. The platen on the heat press can reach temperatures of up to 400 degrees Fahrenheight, so extreme safety is needed. Most shirts require a temperature of around 375 degrees, and around 50/60 PSI (pounds per square inch) of pressure to make a good ink transfer print.

I pray as I print. John 15:5 I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing. I pray that God will be glorified by His word going out into the world. Romans 16:27 To God only wise, be glory through Jesus Christ for ever. Amen.
1 Corinthians 10:31 Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God.

I also pray that the lost will be warned, and that many Christians will be blessed and edified by the Christian apparel that is created here at KJV Prepper.

Psalm 68:11 The Lord gave the word: great was the company of those that published it.

I look forward to serving The Lord, and serving those in the body of Christ who want to get the word out! Thank you, and don’t forget when you SIGN UP for our e-mail list, you will receive a 10% OFF Coupon Code in your confirmation e-mail!
